Published in Heinemann’s ‘Seven-penny Novels’ series.
An early edition of a Wells’ highlight which is quite uncommon due to the fragile production and conveniently pocket-sized format.
The book is reasonably firmly bound in the publisher’s red cloth, lettered and illustrated in black and blind, the boards are somewhat bumped, rubbed and marked. The text block is age browned and dusty with cracking at various points, the John Sullivan illustrated frontispiece is present.
